Madeline “Maddy” V. Stogdill (nee Williams), 88, of Lavallette, NJ, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at Shorrock Gardens, Brick, NJ Born in Point Pleasant, NJ, she was a lifelong of Lavallette. Maddy, along with her husband Mal, were owners and operators of Liberty Liquors in Lavallette for 30 years.
She was a church organist for 50 years, playing at Fort Monmouth Catholic Chapel and St. Bonaventure RC Church, Lavallette and assisting Faith Lutheran Church in Lavallette Maddy was a founding member and the original Sunday School Teacher at Faith Lutheran Church, Lavallette. She was predeceased by her husband, Malcom Stogdill in 2013, her daughter Marsha Pounds in 2010 and her parents William & Ethel Williams.
Maddy is survived by her son and daughter in law Gary & Helen Stogdill of Point Pleasant, NJ, a daughter and son in law Claire & Jackson McDougal of High Point, NC, a brother Raymond Williams of NC, a sister Lorraine Stork of FL, 7 grandchildren Michael, Donna, Stephen, Kathi Rae, Douglas, Mark & Laura and 11 great grandchildren.
