Madeline M. (Theriault) Belanger, 99, of Ashford, widow of Homer A. Belanger, passed away Sunday March 3, 2002 at the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on Oct. 7, 1902 in Belliveau’s Cove, Nova Scotia, the daughter of Valerie and Elizabeth Theriault. She immigrated to the U.S. and became a naturalized citizen. She and Homer bought a farm in Ashford in 1936 and summered there until moving permanently in 1945. Madeline was a seamstress by trade and many benefited from her skills.
