Madeline “Sis’’ Karr, 89, a Deming resident passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Silver City Care Center in Silver City.
Sis was born in El Paso, Texas on September 17, 1932 to George and Madge (McElroy) Houghton. Sis married Bill Karr on October 10, 1953 in El Paso, Texas. She enjoyed crafting and fishing.
Survivors include her daughter, Madge Ann (Juan) Marquez; 3 sons, William “Bill” (Tamara) Karr, Darcy (Dee) Karr and George (Lisa) Karr; 7 grandchildren, Kristin Karr, Quintin Karr, Chase Karr, Meghanne Karr, Reanna Karr, Shannon Valdez, Justin Karr and many great-grandchildren and friends.
Sis was preceded in death by her parents, George and Madge Houghton; her husband, Bill Karr and her son, James “Joe” Karr.
