Machell Gwendolyn Horace also known as “Chelle” was born on July 4, 1959 at Hamilton Ave Hospital in Monticello, N.Y. to Mable Cleveland Horace and the late Samuel Lee Horace Sr.

Machell had a strong will to live, although she fought long and hard passed on June 2, 2021.

Machell attended school in Monticello where she was on the track team. She loved to run. She was fast and good at it. She was a beautiful woman, she had a strong personality, and a great sense of humor. She loved her family and was not afraid to speak her mind. Machell was a social “Butterfly.” She enjoyed music, dancing and the outdoors and spent a great deal of time with her grandchildren. Machell attended Kings Chapel mission church of Monticello as a youth where she was baptized and sang in the church choir.

Machell is survived by; her mother Mable Cleveland Horace; her brother Vernon Horace; her sister Lisa Crawford; her brother Samuel Lee Horace Jr, of Monticello; three daughters Monique Robles, Christina Alecia Pena both of Monticello, N.Y. and Danielle Marshall of South Carolina; seven grandchildren; Nichelle Olivia Jackson of Binghamton, N.Y., Domonique N Simms, Dezmon Devon Smith Vincent Anthony Wright Jr., Jesus Jonathan Aguilar of Monticello, N.Y., Loyalty Marshall and Sky’Asia Marshall both of South Carolina N.Y. ; one niece Katherine Cruz of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; four nephews; Owen Horace, Sheldon Wells of Monticello, and Brandon Crawford of North Carolina, Anthony Cruz of Camp Lejeune North Carolina; five great nieces and two great nephews; one brother in law; Barry Crawford of South Carolina. Her partner of 22 years Charles Eason of Monticello, NY; two sons-in-law; Darren Ellis of Monticello, N.Y., Eron Marshall of South Carolina; and a host of Aunts, Cousins, and friends.

Machelle was predeceased by; her father Samuel Lee Horace Sr.; her two brothers; Savage Joseph Horace and Maurice Alexander Horace; one son Jesus Pena Robles Jr. 1; and nephew Eric S. Hasbrouck.
