Mac Brewer
June 30, 1941 – March 8, 2021
Marion B. “Mac” Brewer of Sheridan, Arkansas was born June 30, 1941 at Sheridan, the son of the late Thurman and Faye Johnson Brewer. He served in the United States Marines, and was stationed in the Phillipines. While serving in the military, he learned both the Spanish and Japanese languages, and was fluent in both. He later worked for a number of years as the general manager of La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club in La Jolla, California. He was a tough, but gentle man. In fact he was one of the most generous people to anyone in need, and was a 2nd Degree Black belt. After moving back to Arkansas, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and could fix just about anything. His last job was working with the Grant County Sheriff’s Department in Sheridan, Arkansas, and serving as court bailiff.
Mr. Brewer died Monday, March 8, 2021 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, at the age of 79. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Brewer, and a step-son, Wayne Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Taylor of Sheridan; son Thomas Brewer of San Diego, California; daughter, Laurie Brewer of Prattsville; step-daughter, Tracy Taylor of Sheridan; brother, Tommy and Lou Brewer of Montana, sisters, Etta Mae (Boyd) Laster and Margie (Clyde) Paulk , both of Sheridan; grandchildren, Zachary Brewer, Aundrea Brewer, Adriana Brewer, Nathaniel Brewer, Elijah Brewer, Isaiah Brewer; great grandchildren, Priscilla, Zachalyn, Jaxston.
