Mable June Krause was born on the home farm near Sherwood, Iowa, on December 22, 1934, to August and Lucille (Gilliland) Krause. Mable attended grade school near home and High School in Rockwell City.
In 1954 she married Duaine Johnson and lived near Pocahontas. In 1957 she moved to Skagway, Alaska, and lived there until 1965, parted from her husband and came back to Iowa. Before going to Alaska their son Dwight was born. Another son, Wayne, and a daughter, Erleen, were born in Skagway.
In 1967 Mable married Ervin Vetter and they had daughters Carol and Colette. She worked in different cafes, curio shops, Manson nursing home as a cook, as well as Senior Citizens and Opportunity Living. Ervin died in 2006.
She later met Jeff Stiehm and they were married in early 2015, and he died in November of that same year.
Mable is survived by her children Dwight (Lenoria) Johnson; Wayne (Sarah) Johnson; Erleen (Carl) Graham; Carol McEnany; Colette (Howard) Gale; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and her sister Carole Jean (John) Erritt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Duaine, Ervin and Jeff; sisters Lena Knight, Delores Morrow, Minnie VanAhn, Rachel Geisinger; brothers George, Harold, Raymond, Clarence, Clifford, and twin brother Melford Krause; as well as one granddaughter Lucy Gale (daughter of Colette), and grandson Christopher Johnson (son of Wayne).
