Mable Garwood Stevens, preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Stevens, died February 15, 2018 at age 99. She was born April 11, 1918 in Tennessee and grew up in Jackson, Tennessee. She graduated from Union University in Jackson, where her mother graduated Cum Laude as well as two of her mother’s sisters. Mable and her sister, Mildred Pearson worked as secretaries for the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials from 1946 to 1948. Mable was secretary to Judge Tal Crawford, who was on the Nazi Doctors’ Trial. When she returned, she and Mildred moved to Denver. Mable married Milton C. Garwood, an attorney who predeceased her. She later married Howard L. Stevens, a real estate agent who also predeceased her. They lived in Stoney Brook. She is survived by one nephew, Eric Manly Pearson, and nieces, Barbara McIntyre Suchy, Carla Pearson Chapin, and Marian Manly Brown. Mable was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, the Assistance League of Denver, Columbine Country Club, and Unity Spiritual Center Denver.
