Mabel Wilsher Phillips, 100, formerly of Collinsville, VA, died on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the home of her caregiver in Bassett, VA. She was born on September 1, 1911 in Amherst County, the first child of the late Jesse Lee Wilsher and Roberta Casey Wilsher. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Boyd Phillips, who died in 2004; sisters, Minnie W. Memmott, Iris W. Coleman and Dorothy W. Eddings and brothers, Edwin Wilsher, Marvin Wilsher and Robert Wilsher. Surviving are two daughters, Geneva P. Pope of Springfield, VA and Janet P. Lackey of Stuart, VA; one son, Ronald M. Phillips of Hampton, VA; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Wilsher of Staunton, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.
