Mabel Roberta Knuth, known as “Robbie,” of Denver, Colorado passed away on August 12, 2017, at the age of 83. She was born on July 8, 1934 in McClave, Colorado to Edson & Erma Moss. She graduated from the Bent County Branch High School in McClave. In June 1953, Robbie entered the University of Kansas Medical Center Nursing School in Kansas City, Kansas. She received her Practical Nurse License in September of 1954 from the University. Upon graduation, Robbie returned to Colorado and began working in November, 1954 at the Pioneer Hospital in Rocky Ford, Colorado. She moved to Watertown, South Dakota, in 1957, where she worked at the local hospital. Returning from South Dakota and to Rocky Ford, after a short while, Robbie attended Baylor University for a year taking additional nursing courses, in obstetrics and pediatrics. Robbie returned home for nearly half a year before venturing to Denver, Colorado. In 1963, she began work at the Presbyterian Hospital and then spent seven years with Spaulding Rehabilitation Center.
