Mabel Irma Lemke, 93, of Johnston, IA, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Brio of Johnston.
Mabel was born October 11, 1928, in Anthon, IA, the daughter of Louis and Edith (Wenzel) Hoult. She received her education in Anthon where she graduated from high school. She was married to Loren Sander in August of 1950 and his death came in 1952. Mabel then married Bud Lemke and they have been married for 66 years.
Mabel was employed at Parker Brothers Games and the Urbandale Middle School but her greatest joy was being a homemaker and raising her family.
She enjoyed needlepoint, working in her garden and her flowers, and attending her grandchildren’s events.
Mabel was preceded in death by her first husband Loren and a sister Eva Herbold.
She is survived by her husband Bud, two daughters, Coni Momoa of Norwalk and Lorna Sander of Van Meter, two sons, Craig (Kay) of Urbandale and Kurt (Mary) of Van Meter, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a sister Bettina Perkins of Anthon, IA.
