Mabel Diane (Gerard) Fornash, 72, of Nutter Fort, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born February 5, 1941 in Clarksburg the daughter of the late Soloman Gerard, Sr. and Florence Eula Griffith Gerard. She was preceded in death by her husband James Hadsel Fornash. She is survived by three children; Jim Fornash and wife Rose of Fairmont, Scott Fornash of Quiet Dell and Brittany Fornash Keener and husband Robert of Nutter Fort; one brother Soloman Gerard, JR. of Ohio; one sister; Melverna Huey of Ohio; four grandchildren; Kassandra Fornash of Quiet Dell, Matthew Fornash of Fairmont, Kristin Fornash of Quiet Dell and Aubrey Keener of Nutter Fort; one special niece and caregiver; Rosetta “Snookie” McDaniel and special niece Elaine “Bertie” Flinn; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one sister Rose Werner and infant siblings. Mabel was very involved in the community, she was a member of the Eastern Star of Clarksburg and was a former Nutter Fort City Council Woman, and she also volunteered her time at the Clarksburg Baptist Food Pantry. Over her 72 years, she worked at Anchor Hocking Glass Factory, for the Harrison County School Board, Infocision, and was the owner of All Star Food in Nutter Fort. Mabel was a foster mother and worked hard and cared for everyone.
