Mabel B. Kellogg, 95, passed away January 18, 2010 at Pioneer Place in Vale, OR.

Mabel was born on July 26, 1914 in Garland, UT to Maggie Bradshaw and George Henderson.  She was the eldest of eight children.  She attended schools in Burley, ID.

Mabel met Meredith M. Lambert in Burley, ID and they were married in Salt Lake City, UT on October 19, 1936.  They moved to Chico, CA where their daughter, Sharleen, was born.  They lived in Sacramento, CA where Meredith worked at McClellan Air Force Base during the war.  Their son, Dennis, was born there.  They later divorced and she returned to Idaho and eventually settled in Boise where she met and married William P. Kellogg on November 25, 1952.  They had two sons, Randy and Gregg.

Mabel held various jobs during her lifetime.  She was an immaculate housekeeper and used her skills to clean homes of some of the stately mansions on Warm Springs Avenue.  She also worked at C.C. Anderson’s in the bakery and at Albertson’s as a checker before going to work as a nurse’s aide for St. Luke’s Hospital for 21 years, retiring in 1977.  She was a wonderful cook and seamstress.  Later in her life she took up oil painting and went to beauty school for a short time.

Before numerous health problems slowed her down, Mabel loved to travel.  She went on a cruise, which had been a life long dream.  She always took pride in the way she looked and received many compliments on her beautiful hair and wonderful laugh and sense of humor.

Mabel is survived by her daughter, Sharleen and husband, George Betebenner of Sun City West, AZ; sons, Dennis Lambert of San Jose, CA, Randy Kellogg of Payette, ID, and Gregg Kellogg and wife, Sandy, and their daughter, Lea of Payette, and Gregg’s son, Nathan and wife, Tiffany of Boise; her sisters, Doris Kelly of Burley, Ruth Merrill of Paul, ID, Betty Miller of Indio, CA; her sister-in-law, Valoy Henderson of Middleton, ID; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Bill Kellogg; a daughter; her parents; two brothers, Gerald and George Henderson; and her sisters, Bernice Gainey and Joyce Ottley preceded her in death.
