Virginia Leary Norwich – Virginia Leary, born Mary Virginia Leary, of Woodland Drive, Norwich, Connecticut passed away peacefully at her home on May 14, 2012. Virginia was born in Norwich, Connecticut on October 14, 1921 was the daughter of the late Mary McCarthy Leary and Cornelius Leary. She graduated from Norwich Free Academy and, then, Connecticut College in New London in 1943. Virginia had a long and successful career as an English teacher and guidance counselor at Norwich Free Academy. She also took care of her mother and brother, John, in their final illness. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling at home and abroad and especially enjoyed a trip to her parent’s homeland, Ireland, with her father shortly before his death.
