M. Marian Jensen, 89, passed away peacefully in Meridian, Idaho on Feb.7, 2017. She was born Nov 26, 1927 to William and Daisy Lovell, the youngest of six children. Marian was cute from the git go, chubby like a little pumpkin, so her father nicknamed her ‘Punky’. To this day she remains our beloved Aunt Punky.
Marian was born in Healdsburg, California and moved to Boise, Idaho with her family when she was only 3 years old. She grew up in Boise’s north end and graduated from Boise High School.
Marian married Charles Jensen in 1951, they later divorced.
She lived most of her working career in San Francisco and San Jose, California working for the Telephone company. She was an excellent secretary and cheerful coworker with a great sense of humor. She earned several promotions throughout her career and was highly respected by all.
In the late 1970s she retired from the Telephone company and moved “home” to Boise to be near her siblings.
Marian was passionate about her pets, especially her first little dog, Muffin.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ray Lovell and William Lovell, sisters Mary Coggburn, Genevieve Donoho and Barbara Call, and niece Marilyn Johnson and nephew Gary Thompson. We miss you all.
Marian is survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews…and their children.
Her twinkling blue eyes and sunny smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Psalm 107:1 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
The family would like to thank the sweet staff at Spring Creek Assisted Living in Meridian for their tender care of Aunt Punky during this last year of her life, especially the last few days. You’re the best!
We would also like to thank Keystone Hospice of Eagle for making a difficult time peaceful and calm for Marian and for our family.
