Lynne (Wargo) Bennett “Gram”, age 71 of Fairfield, beloved wife of 50 years and high school sweetheart of the late Robert F. (Bobby) Bennett, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Victor and Vera (Lindquist) Wargo, she was raised in Black Rock and later moved to Fairfield to raise her family. Lynne was a freelance Administrative Assistant at Fairfield University, and was co-owner and bookkeeper for her and her husband’s business, B & L Trucking Company. Although she was a competitive bowler herself, Lynne found more joy watching her husband, children and grandchildren play sports. A positive light in her son’s and grandchildren’s lives, she was so kind and thoughtful, always placing other’s needs before hers.
A loving grandmother of four grandchildren, she enjoyed gardening, knitting and playing pinochle. Lynne leaves behind her two loving sons, Robert T. Bennett and his wife Susan Andracchi and Michael J. Bennett and his wife Albina and cherished grandchildren, Catherine and John of NC and Lauren and Sophia of Trumbull. She also leaves behind her devoted sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan and Ray Rasmussen of Fairfield, and nephews, Mark Rasmussen and his wife Laura, Bruce Rasmussen and his wife Leslie as well as many cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
