Lynne Louanne (Merkle) Hughson, age 83, passed away on August 17, 2018, in Kalamazoo. Lynne was born September 25, 1934, in Battle Creek.
She was the daughter of Zola and Peter DePotter. Lynne was a member of the Upper Room Church of God in Christ. For over 15 years she provided child daycare in her home for many families. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. In 1952 she was united in marriage to Donald M. Hughson, who preceded her in death in 2000.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother Larry Dean. In 2015 she was united in marriage to Bob Merkle, who survives. Also surviving are her three daughters Deborah (Tom) Danger, Kim (David) Olson, and Colleen (Steve) Bishop; five grandchildren David (Jennifer) Olson, Jr., Harvey Heeres, Ryan (Allison) Olson, Nathan (Amy) Heeres, Rachel (Justin) Haney; and nine great-grandchildren.
