Lynne Fischer Ross, 70, of Metairie, LA, and Destin, FL, died on Saturday, November 1, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on September 14, 1944, in New Orleans, LA, the daughter of Eugene and Audrey Burtch Fischer. Lynne graduated from Fortier High School in 1962 and acquired her PHD in Clinical Chemistry from UNO in 1980. She was an active member and volunteer of Friends of City Park, and was chosen as Volunteer of the Year. She is survived by her mother Audrey Fischer, sister, Sue Pagett, brothers in law; Kenny McCaffery, David “Gary” Ross (Sara), Kevin Ross (Carmen), Michael Ross (Linda), Terrence Ross (Rhonda), Hugh Ross (Cynthia); sister in law, Bridget Ross; nieces and nephews, Sean McCaffery (Jana), Meghan McCaffery Roussel, Cary Pagett, Jr. (Alicia), Alexandra Pagett, Erin Ross Croft (Lyle), Bradley Ross (Beth), Matthew Ross (Melissa), Mary Katherine “Katie” Ross, Spencer Ross, Mitchell Worley (Jami), and Brandon Worley (Kasi). She had 17 great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Fischer; husband of 43 years, Patrick M. Ross; sister, Jean McCaffery; father in law, William J Ross, Jr; mother in law, Mary Riley Ross; brother in law, William J Ross, III; nephews, William “Billy” Ross, IV and Brian Ross.
