Lynn Walter Hinnefeld, age 94, passed away peacefully at Hoosier Christian Village of Brownstown, Indiana.

Born on December 27, 1923, in Brownstown, Indiana he was the son of Walter and Amelia (Vondielingen) Hinnefeld.  Both who have preceded Lynn in death.  

Lynn graduated from Purdue with a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture. 

He was a member of the Brownstown Library Board during the time the library was being built, a longtime member of the Brownstown Exchange Club.  He volunteered with the Jackson County Historical Society.  A past member of the Lutheran Central School Board of Brownstown.  He retired from teaching after nearly 40 years at the Brownstown School System.  He started teaching at Oaktown School, He taught veterans from World War II agricultural science as they returned home after the war.  He finished his teaching career at Brownstown Central School System.  He enjoyed photography, genealogy, playing bridge and euchre.

His survivors include four children, Steve Hinnefeld and Theresa Malone, Stuart and Susan Hinnefeld, Jerry and Suzanne Hinnefeld, and Joyce Hinnefeld and Jim Hauser, eight grandchildren, Peter, Amelia, Kevin, Andrew, Edward, Henry, and William Hinnefeld, and Anna Hauser, great-grandchildren Maya, Charlie, and Leo Hinnefeld and Spyridon Stratigos.  He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 64 years and a sister Janet Kaufman.
