Lynn Ellen Meier, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2023. Born on August 25, 1939, Lynn grew up in Broomall, PA, graduating from Marple Newtown HS. She lived a life full of passion, dedication, and artistic expression and was a selfless, loving, and creative soul.
After marrying the love of her life, Frank, Lynn worked as a key punch operator. Then her priority became raising their family. Lynn then began a career as a teacher’s assistant for the Chester Upland School District from 1975 to 2004. Working at both Toby Farms and Main Street Schools, where she was a mentor to hundreds of young minds. Her dedication to her work was palpable, and she left a lasting impact on countless students.
In addition to her work in education, Lynn also had a tenure at Best Products, Inc in Springfield, PA. From 1986 to 1993, she worked in the jewelry department, which if you knew her you know this was very dangerous to her paycheck. Her love for beauty and craftsmanship did not stop there. Lynn also worked at several retail stores in Stone Harbor, NJ, working only at night to sustain her beach-bum life during the day.
Beyond her professional life, Lynn was deeply involved in her local community. She served for several years on the Board of Elections and the athletic association. One project she loved was crafting custom, ceramic dolls for each cheerleader graduating from Chester High School. This act of love and recognition was a testament to her generous spirit and her remarkable artistic talent.
Her love for family was matched only by her love for the beach.
As an animal lover, Lynn had a special place in her heart for dachshunds; having several dogs over the years. They were fed better than most people and treated better than her own jealous human children.
Her life was a testament to the power of love, creativity, and selflessness. Lynn E. Meier will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the memories we cherish and the lessons she taught us. Her life serves as a beautiful reminder that every moment is a gift, and every person has the capacity to make a difference.
Surviving Lynn are her three children, Carole Lynn Stackhouse and her husband, Lawrence, Jr. of Ridley Park, Robert “Bob” Francis Meier and his wife, Dolores of Springfield and JoAnne Forbes and her husband, Hays of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Lawrence Stackhouse, III, Matthew Stackhouse and his wife, Kelly, Joseph Stackhouse, Allison Stackhouse, Robert Meier, Jr. and his wife, Kellie, Sean S. Meier and his wife, Jessica and Linze Forbes; five great grandchildren, Sam, Nora and Theo Meier and Kimberly and Nate Meier; as well as her adoring sister, Jill Marie Hallman Ewing and partner Earl Wilson.
