Lynn (Mac) Darnell McMullin, 85, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019, at his home in Horseshoe Bend.
He was born in Hickman, Kentucky on December 8, 1933, son of the late Gather Tilden and Ada (Corum) McMullin. Mac spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was united in marriage to Marlene Ann Herbert on June 21, 1986 in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Mac served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and worked in Naval Security. He retired from the Navy as a Commander after 31 years of service. Mac attended Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Horseshoe Bend. He loved sailing his yacht, The Crockett, boating, camping, and traveling in his motorhome – twice to Alaska. Mac loved to help people, fix things, and was a restorer at heart. He loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren.
Mac is survived by his wife, Marlene McMullin of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; sons, Peter McMullin and wife Sandy of Providence, North Carolina, Bruce Herbert and wife Roz of Point Loma, California and Bryan Herbert of Chandler, Arizona; daughters, Sandra Burn and husband Michael of Greenville, South Carolina, Cherie Blocker and husband Jimmy of Summerville, South Carolina, Beth Cavner and husband Steve of Coronado, California and Becky Bonahoom and husband Patrick of Queen Creek, Arizona; 13 grandchildren, Katelyn Burn, Matthew Burn, Adam Blocker, Kristina Hooker, Cindy Wilson, Andrea Anderson, Colton Cavner, Carson Cavner, Bryan Bonahoom, Brittney Inch, Olivia Herbert and Melanie Herbert; 9 great grandchildren and sisters, Hilda Allmon of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and Sue Wahn of Rockwall, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gather and Ada McMullin; sisters, Celeste Newman and Mary Kay Pierce; brothers, Roger McMullin and Guy McMullin and grandson, Bradley Cavner.
