Lynette Kay Koelmel, 53 of Centralia, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia surrounded by her family. She was born March 27, 1963 in Centralia, daughter of Willis Ahrens and Arline (Sprehe) Ahrens.
She married Terry Koelmel on March 11, 1989 and he survives in Centralia. In addition to her husband of 27 years, she is also survived by her parents; two children: Samantha Rodrick and husband Josh of Claremont, Illinois and Brent Koelmel and wife Lindsay of St. Louis, Missouri; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Sandy Wilson and husband Dennis of Mt. Vernon, Larry Koelmel and wife Tammy of Mt. Vernon, Connie Bickers and husband Tom of St. Joseph, Rodney Koelmel and wife Shelley of Shattuc, and Rick Koelmel and wife Margaret of Indiana; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Harry and Laura Ahrens and Harry and Regina Sprehe, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Glen and Norma Jean Koelmel, three uncles: Willard Ahrens, Melvin Koelmel, and Alvin Sprehe, and a nephew: Cory Hubbell.
Lynette was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia. She coached several sports over the years and the kids always called her “Coach”. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, going to sporting events with friends, and watching her children play sports. She assisted with AR Store at Trinity Lutheran School for many years.
Lynette always enjoyed giving and helping children and people. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, friends, and her four legged companion, Bill the cat.
