Lynes E. Allen, 88, of Brighton, passed away on July 1, 2012 at his home. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 9, 1924 to Albert Allen and Ruth Gentner. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1941 and continued his education at Colorado School of Mines. He married Iris F. Scott on March 13, 1943 in Hernando, Mississippi.
Lynes enlisted in the U.S. Navy in November 1942, serving as an Aviation Machinist Mate until his honorable discharge in December 1945.
Lynes worked as an A&P Licensed Airline Mechanic with United Airlies for 32 years prior to his retirement in 1984.
He has lived in Brighton since 1929 and has lived in the same house that he purchased in 1955.
