W. Lyndal Sonneborn, 81, of rural Franklin, IL died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
He was born August 16, 1932 in Palmyra, IL, the son of William Henry and Velma I. Clark Sonneborn. He married Thelma Castiaux Hamm on August 17, 2002 and she survives.
He is also survived by three sons, Mark A. Stone of Springfield, James Dayle Sonneborn (wife, Loretta) of Springfield, and Lyndal Dale Sonneborn (wife, Jennifer) of Franklin; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, and several brothers and sisters.
Lyndal owned and operated Sonneborn Tire Shop in Waverly for many years and later served as a school bus driver for the Franklin School District. In his spare time, he enjoyed baking and word search puzzles.
