Lydia E. Callahan, age 70 years, of Plymouth, died Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Boston Medical Center. She was the wife of Timothy J. Callahan, and the daughter of the late Miguel Alejandro and Luisa Fontanez. Born in Guabo, Puerto Rico, she has lived in Plymouth for most of her life. Lydia worked as a nurse’s aide for area nursing homes for many years. She enjoyed working puzzle books, shopping, traveling, music and singing. She especially liked to listen to Barry White, Isaac Hayes and Gloria Gaynor. She loved to watch television and British detective shows, Murder She Wrote, and Alfred Hitchcock were among her favorites. Most important to Lydia though, was the time she spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchild. Besides her loving husband Timothy of 34 years, she is survived by her children, Carlos Alejandro of Plymouth, Timothy Callahan and his fiancé Melissa Mason of Rhode Island, and Tina Alejandro of Plymouth, her eight grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was the sister of Maria Alejandro, Elizabeth Hernandez, Miriam Alejandro and the late Miguel Alejandro. She was predeceased by two grandchildren. She had a special relationship with her deceased mother-in-law Jean Woodworth, sister-in-law Pam Shank, brothers-in-law Arthur, Harold, Paul Callahan and nephew Tyler Shank.
