Luz R. Gonzalez (MOM), entered into eternal rest and was called home to our Lord on Friday, December 17, 2021.
She was born on June 15, 1938 in Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato to Carmen Villarreal and Juan Ramirez.
She was a lifelong resident of Harlingen. At the time of her death she was a member of Templo Emmanuel Assembly of God Church in Combes.Luz, known by many as “Mom”, loved cooking for her family and a multitude of her sons’ friends. She will always be remembered for her loving hospitality.
Luz is survived by her loving family. She will be missed by Raul D. Gonzalez, her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, her three sons; Jose Miguel (Gloria) Gonzalez and J.M. (Natacha) Gonzalez both of Harlingen and Abel (Mark) Gonzalez-Mencio of La Feria, granddaughter, Jacqueline (Shad) Munguia, great-grandson Jonathan Thomas Munguia of Harlingen and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her two sisters Juanita Sepulveda, Jessica Salinas and her brother Tomas Corona.
Luz is preceded in death by her parents Juan Ramirez and Carmen Villarreal, sisters Carmen Castillo and Guadalupe Cardona.
Luz was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Special out-of-town guests are Guadalupe Villarreal Murillo and family, Linda Rath and John Behrmann, Lucila Gonzalez and family.Special mention of friends are Sra. Mari Escobedo and Soledad Hernandez and family.
All individuals are encouraged to wear a mask or face covering.
