“M.L.” Spence, age 80 of Carriere, MS, who passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 2:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. Cedric Lumpkin. A native of Pearl River County, MS, he was a retired Chief Engineer for McDermott and a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. M.L. was a member of the Masonic Lodge #445, and a veteran of the Korean War with the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. Spence and Effie Johnson Spence; his brothers, Willie O. Spence and Johnny M. Spence; and his sister, Margaret Thompson. Survivors include his nieces, Rhonda Metzler and husband P-nut, and Vanessa Hubbard and husband Bobby; his nephew, Joey Scarbrough; his great nephew, Owen Galmiche; his great niece, Brandy Hatten and husband Dusty; and many other nieces and nephews.
