Northport – Luther Burgess Pate, 87, passed away on December 18, 2020 at Hospice of West Alabama.
Mr. Pate was a loving son, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family meant the world to him. Everyone who knew him knew how much he loved to work. He loved to garden and share the fruits of his labors.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Carol Guy Pate; his parents, AA and Emmie Pate; sister Sara Ruth Lancaster.
He is survived by his daughter Susan Pate Shirley (Mark) of Northport, sons Steve Pate (Connie) of Northport, Randall Pate (Donna) of Northport, brother Thomas Pate (Dee) of San Diego, CA, grandchildren Jenny Ellis (Jeremy), Daniel Pate (Kristin), Brandi Weaver (Caleb), Hannah Allen (Nick), Natalie Shirley and Trenton Shirley and 14 great-grandchildren.
