Lula Bell Malone was born on July 7, 1949 to the late Margie Lee Coates in Coffeeville. She committed her life to Christ early on and joined The Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she proudly served as an usher. She devoted the rest of her life to being a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching cooking shows and traveling. Lula departed this earthly life on Sept. 27, 2020 at the age of 71.
She is survived by her only daughter, Angelina Malone of Whatley; two granddaughters, Celeste Malone Council (Jerome B. Council) of Okinawa, Japan and Latonya Malone of Birmingham; four great-grandchildren, Tahj Evan Council, Braylen Isiah Lockett, Dash Emil Council and Noah Lamar Lockett; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Malone of Selma and Sharon Coates of Leroy; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Margie Lee Coates and Jack Coates; sisters, Lula Mae Kidd, Allie Lou Williams and Mary Lou Brown; and her two brothers, Sammie Coates and Robert Malone.
