Luereather Jones Brown a native and resident of the Walker Springs community, left this earth to join her Creator Nov. 6, 2020 at Jackson Medical Center. She was born on Oct. 5, 1939 to Johnny Jones and Lucille Scott Jones. Early in life she united with the Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, where she had once served as the church secretary and was a choir member before failing health. Tody, as she was so lovely called, enjoyed singing, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a very out-spoking woman that would let you know what was on her mind! 

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Augusta Brown; and brothers, Will Jones and Frank Jones. 

Left to cherish her loving memories are her six daughters, Lorraine Mosley and Rushieal G. Pritchett, both of Walker Springs, Wanda Brown of Rockville and Genella Brown of Jackson; two sons, Hosia Brown and DeKendrick Brown, both of Walker Springs; 13 grandchildren, Maurice, Teneechin, Deidra, Shatari, Brandon, Candace, Brittany, Hosea, Shamiah, Destiny, Titus, Tychius and Tyra;  five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Bryson, Laycei, Kolby and Kaislyn; her siblings, Daniel (Ida) Jones and Leacie Jones, both of Walker Springs, Lucinda (Charles) Clarke, John (Alice) Jones, Lillie Scott and Bernice Clarke, all Chicago, Ill.; adopted son, O.J. Bryant of Walker Springs; aunts, Lillie McCarriel of Buffalo, N.Y., and Mary Williams and Lula Jones, both of Mobile; sisters-in-law, Lula Brown of Walker Springs, Barbara Jones of Leroy and Lucille Ware of Jackson; adopted brothers, the Rev. Clayton Davis Sr. and Earl Berry Sr.; god-brother, Fred (Dora) Bryant of St. Stephens; friends, Mary Ann Pritchett, Anna Smith, Cynthia Wright, Michael Hurd, Davie Williams and her Greater Pilgrim Rest Church Family; with a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
