Lucy L. (Wilkerson) Meeks, 91, of Greenwood, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017, in Indianapolis.
She was born on March 7, 1925, in Dunneville, Kentucky, to her parents, James Ira and Nanniebell (Lawhorn) Wilkerson. She was a homemaker.
Lucy enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, bingo and playing softball for her hospital league. She loved spending time with her family (especially all of her grandchildren-greats, and great-greats.)
Lucy is survived by her children, Dianne (Bill) Carey, and Joyce (Steve) Mize both of Greenwood, Carla (John) Thiesing, and Becky Sharpe both of Indianapolis, Brian Meeks and Sheri Meeks both of Greenwood, two sisters, Frances (Hubert) Sutherland of Danville, Kentucky and Betty Hiter of Junction City, Kentucky, two brothers, Bobby (Elane) Wilkerson of Danville, Kentucky and Freddie Wilkerson of Lexington, Kentucky, ten grandchildren: Charles Taylor, Stacie and Eric Carey, Scot and Mark Mize, Marty Pemberton, Tony Woodall, Jake Sharpe, Andrea and Richard Lynch, twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Meeks, her parents, and nine siblings.
