Lucy Dell (Komenda) recently passed away at the age of 95 years. She passed peacefully on September 24, 2022, while residing at the Springs Valley Care Center in Colorado Springs.
Lucy was born on April 22, 1927 in the farming town of Columbus, Pennsylvania. Her parents were Lucas Komenda (deceased) and Katherine Volen (deceased). She was the youngest of 5 children. She married Donald Dell (deceased) in 1952 and had two boys. After traveling by train through the Colorado Rocky Mountains on her honeymoon, Lucy fell in love with Colorado and vowed to return there some day. It was 40 years ago that Lucy left her beloved hills of Pennsylvania and settled in Manitou Springs. She has remained there ever since and loved to explore the mountain trails.
Lucy is survived by her sister, Emily Sechriest of Bear Lake, Pennsylvania, and her two sons, David Dell of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Robert Dell of Honolulu, Hawaii, as well as numerous friends throughout Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs.
