Lucille H. “Lucy” (Chambon) Sexton, 97, of Bloomington passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 surrounded by her loving family, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born, January 1, 1923 in Bicknell, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Henry C. and Juliette M. (Bastide) Chambon.

Lucy was a 1941 graduate of Bicknell High School. Following high school, Lucy attended Beauty College in Evansville and graduated in February 1943, later working as a Beautician in Evansville and Bicknell.

Lucy married the love of her life, Everett J. “Bud” Sexton on January 8, 1949. Lucy and Bud Sexton and brother-in-law Hugh Sexton founded and operated Sexton Vault in 1945 located in Bicknell, Indiana. Changing the name to Sexton Wilbert Corp. in 1965, which is still owned and operated by her family today.

Lucy attended Unionville Church of Christ in Unionville, Indiana. Lucy was a charter member of the Thrifty Homemakers, held several offices, and made many lifelong friends.

Lucy loved to go camping with family and friends, as well as travel to various places in the United States and Canada.

Lucy’s Survivors include two children, Julie Fleetwood (Jim) of Bloomington, Mark Sexton (Tina) of Spencer, four grandchildren, Jeremy Fleetwood, Jama Chandler (Andy), Michael Sexton (Danielle), and Heather Torphy (David) all of Bloomington, five great-grandchildren, Bailey Chandler, Drew Chandler, Colten Hubbell, Braden Hubbell, and Mitchell Sexton all of Bloomington.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Everett “Bud” Sexton (2015) and her brother, Henry Albert Chambon (2011).
