Lucy Chavez, 84, of Flagstaff passed away Friday, September 11th at the Olivia White Hospice Home with her family at her side. Lucy was born to Trancito Martinez and Sista Sandoval on March 5, 1925 in their family home in Flagstaff, AZ.
She married Charles Chavez in July of 1954. Lucy and Charles celebrated their 50th Anniversary in July of 2004, Lucy worked for Foodtown as a Butcher and later a cashier. She also worked for Babbitt Brothers.
Lucy took comfort in caring for her children and grandchildren.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her sisters Jenny Chavez, Stella Colmenero, Esther Carlos, her brother Trancito Martinez, as well as her parents. She is survived by her children Clark Chavez, Evangeline Chavez, Joseph (Karen) Chavez, Frank (Petra) Chavez, Eight grandchildren and four great grandsons. She is also survived by her younger brother Gilbert (Becky) Martinez, several nieces, nephews and friends.
