LUCY BELLE SAPHORE

 

Lucy Belle Saphore, 83, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.

 

Born June 12, 1930 in Gore, Oklahoma, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel (Skinner) Rodgers.

 

Mrs. Saphore was retired from Erie Murata, Carlisle.  She was a member of the Carlisle Church of Christ.

 

Lucy was a graduate of Central High School, Muskogee, Ok.

 

She was a co-owner, along with her husband of Dan Saphore Stained Glass, Carlisle.  She and her husband were avid Civil War re-enactors.

 

Mrs. Saphore enjoyed painting, sewing, knitting, reading the Bible and raising children.  She was her husband’s partner in all things.

 

She was preceded in death by a son:  Daniel Saphore, III, a sister:  Missouri, brothers William S., Clifford, John and Ira James Rodgers and a sister:  Ellen Muir.

 

Surviving are her husband of 65 years:  Daniel W. Saphore, Jr.,; a son:  James (and wife Malia) Saphore of Plainfield; a daughter:  Angila (Thomas) Brownawell of Carlisle; daughter in law Judy (and husband Neil) Austin of Carlisle; a sister:  Gertie “Jackie” Rodgers of Gore, Ok; grandchildren:  Seth McCullough, Colia Saphore, Erin Saphore, Jeremy Saphore, Shawn Myers and Gina Widmer; step grandchildren:  Jason Brownawell (and wife Kylee) and Crystal Hall (and husband Todd); great grandchildren:  Rylee Hall, Logan Saphore, Cody, Daniel and Nicholas Myers and Matthew Widmer.
