LEVETO, Lucinda K. “Kay” Portage, MI. Lucinda K. Leveto, age 92, died on Tuesday morning, November 13, 2012, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born on April 14, 1920, in Sciotoville, OH, a daughter of the late Walter and Gertrude Roach Tilson and grew up in Apollo, PA. In 1938, Kay moved to Pittsburg, PA and in 1948 to Whitehall, MI.

During WWII, she worked for the telephone company and travelled to many states working for the government at service port locations. After the war, Kay worked as a telephone operator, did clerical work for National Waterlift and the Shakespeare Co, and as a switchboard operator for Borgess Medical Center. Kay was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In August of 1949, Kay was united in marriage with George Leveto, who preceded her in death in 1968. She was also preceded in death by: a son, Thomas Warren Leveto; two great-grandchildren, Logan Cowley and Kaylee Janotzke; three brothers, Carl, John and Walter Tilson; and a sister, Mildred Long. Surviving are: a son, Robert Cherie Ross of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Antonia “Tonia” Michael Pingel, Sr., of Portage, MI; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
