Lucille Mains, age 88 of Algona, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2019 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Lucille Alvina Lauck, the daughter of Henry and Ella (Meyer) Lauck, was born on December 19, 1930 in West Bend, Iowa. Lucille was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Whittemore and attended school at St. Paul’s. On August 2, 1953 Lucille was united in marriage with Dale Mains in Whittemore. Before marriage she was a nanny and did housekeeping. After marriage Lucille became the CEO of the Mains household. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and the VFW Auxiliary. Lucille enjoyed quilting, baking Christmas cookies, decorating cakes, gardening, canning, fishing, camping and traveling. She loved her family and her title of “Cookie Grandma”. Left to cherish Lucille’s memory is her husband of 65 years, Dale; children, Wanda (Steve) Schwier of Atlantic, Donna Mains and her special friend Dan Coleman of Hornersville, MO, Lynette (Kurt) Hankins of Algona and Scott (Lou) Mains of Lewiston, ID; grandchildren, Seth, Timothy, Jeany, Tiffany, Zachary, Titus, Abe, Sam and Hannah; great grandchildren, Dakota, Avery, Rilie, Sarah, Ezekiel, Olivia, Katera, Kyra, Summer, Mason, Emily, Skylar, Zoey, Keegan, Luke, Kyran, Kenai and Isobel; great great grandchild, Kylie; and brothers, Henry, Ivan, Larry and Gary Lauck all of West Bend. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Paul Lauck.
