Lucille (née Ateniese) Kozicki, 93, died Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Monarch House in Newnan, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Joseph Kozicki. She leaves her daughters, Susan Quadrio, Lauren Benet, and Beverly Dunham, her nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Born in East Rutherford, New Jersey, she was the elder child of Pietro and Filomena (née Lanzilotta) Ateniese, who had one daughter and one son. She graduated salutatorian from East Rutherford High School in 1946. She met her husband at a dance in Passaic, New Jersey, where she ultimately raised a family. They remained in Passaic until retirement where they moved to the warmer states of North Carolina and Georgia. She enjoyed a retirement of more than 30 years. Mrs. Kozicki was active in the parish of Saint George and participated in many ministries. She was an avid reader and bilingual in English and Italian. Her hobbies included sewing and knitting. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spending time outside on her patio porch swing on sunny days. She had a passion for children; she mentored at a local elementary school and taught her grandchildren to cook and play her favorite board games. The funeral mass will be Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. George Catholic Church with Father Randy Maddux officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM with a Rosary service at 7:00 PM at McKoon Funeral Home.
