Lucille H. Cannon passed peacefully in her sleep early Thursday morning of congestive heart failure at the age of 97.
Lucille was born July 31, 1921 in Dallas, Texas to Otto and Julia Meissner. She attended Mt Auburn Elementary School, J.L. Long Junior High, and Woodrow Wilson High School, graduating in 1939. She worked at Southwestern Bell for a few years until she married Jack L. Cannon in 1941 and started a family. She was a loving mother to Jack L. Cannon Jr. (“Len”) and Cynthia A. Cannon.
An active member of East Dallas Christian Church, she participated in Christian Women’s Fellowship, Coronet Book Club, Azilian Study Club, the Sanders Class/Fellowship Class, and was an Elder. Jack and Lucille also drove and delivered Meals on Wheels for 30 years. After Jack’s retirement they enjoyed traveling the world.
Jack and Lucille were married 77 years. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack and son Jack Jr. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia, grandson Jack III, his wife Jyl, and their daughter Natalie M. Cannon.
