Lucille (Lucia Cecilia Delores) was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Vincent William Kaminskas and Tofelia (nee Casperovish), both born in Lithuania and coming to the United States as adults in the early 1900’s. Lucille was Christened in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Baltimore. Though at 6 years old, she only spoke Lithuanian, she was strong willed and determined to attend the English speaking elementary school. After only a few years, she was able to speak fluent English and was a good student. She graduated from Western High School in 1933. During school she was the captain of the champion basketball team and was on the track team. After graduation, she worked in Retail businesses in Baltimore. At 21, she met and married Allan V. Rodey, a machinist. They raised four children: Allan Jr. b:1942/d:2003, Bonnie Jean b:1947, Joyce Carol b:1949 and Darlene Gail b:1950. Lucille attended Towson University taking early education classes in support of her teaching 3rd grade students in the Baltimore City Public school system for 10 years. After Allan Sr. passed in 1975, Lucille married in 1977 and remained married to Lilburn Stout of Brooklyn Park until his death in 1984. She enjoyed duckpin bowling and volunteered weekly at Meridian Nursing Home. In 1995, Lucille moved to Waterloo, Iowa where her daughter Darlene Coarts and her family lived. She remained in Iowa for the remainder of her life.
