Lucille Cecile (Bessette) Lepine, age 89, a lifelong resident of Easthampton, died peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, November 16th, with her family by her side. She was born on October 7, 1933 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton and was one three daughters born to the late Loretta A. (Seymour) Bessettte and Rene J. Bessette.
She was educated at the former Notre Dame Parochial School and Easthampton High School. At a young age she entered the workforce at the former Stanley Home Products in Easthampton for some years before her marriage. On June 25, 1955 at the Notre Dame Parish in Easthampton she married Claude Oliver Lepine and together they raised two sons and celebrated sixty seven years of marriage together. Lucille worked as a nursing assistant for the Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton for thirty one years until her retirement.
She loved her catholic faith and was a devoted communicant of the Notre Dame Parish / Our Lady of the Valley Parish and prayed the Rosary and Novena prayers daily. She loved her home life and enjoyed knitting, cooking, baking and her holiday meat pies. In her younger years she participated in the women’s bowling league at Canal Lanes in Southampton.
Lucille leaves her loving husband of 67 years, Claude O. Lepine, her two son’s; Dennis C. Lepine and Mark G. Lepine, both of Easthampton, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her two sisters; Claire T. Kelmel on July 20, 2011 and Jeannine T. Miller on June 18, 2022.
