Mrs. Lucille Brockington Ingram, 91, of 510 Pendleton Court died on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at High Point Regional Hospital following and extended illness.
Lucille was born on May 9, 1922 to the late Elvira Brockington and Dye Jefferson in South Carolina. Coming from Bennettsville, she had been a High Point resident for over fifty-five years. She was a dedicated member of Temple Memorial Baptist Church where she served on the usher board and in other capacities. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a retiree of Guilford County Public Schools.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ingram was preceded in death by husbands, Willie Brown, and Thomas Ingram; sister, Maggie Watson; five sons, Infant child, B. J. Brown, James Brockington, Leo Brown, and Sam Brown; and stepdaughter, Tommie Mae Warren.
Surviving relatives include three sons, John Brown (Catherine) of High Point, Willie Brown, Jr. (Francina) of Greensboro, and Samuel Brown of the home; daughter, Mary Brown Boone of the home; stepdaughters, Lillian Ingram, Joann Thomas and Doris Wilson; twenty-two grandchildren; fifty-seven great grandchildren; sixty great great grand; eight great great great grandchildren; special nieces, Thelma Brockington, Lizzie Jane York both of Bennettsville, South Carolina and Mary Bond of Brooklyn, New York; a host of other relatives and friends.
