WESTFIELD – Lucil S. Austin, 92, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at her home in Westfield, MA.  At the time of her passing she was surrounded by those she loves the most, her loving and devoted family. 

Lucil was born on April 14, 1929, in Ancon Canal Zone, Panama to the late Reginald Campbell and Adina (Murray) Campbell.  In 1937 at the age of 8, Lucil and her family moved to Barbados.  In 1965 at the age of 36, Lucil departed Barbados for the United States of America.

Lucil’s Spanish Caribbean heritage is a defining character of her life.  She loved Calypso music and dancing.

Lucil enjoyed exercising and living an all around healthy life style.

Lucil is predeceased by her parents Reginald and Adina Campbell, her former husband Harmsworth E. Austin,  her brother Ernest Campbell,  and her daughter in law Doreen Austin. 

Survivors include her sons: Everick Austin of Texas, Trevor Austin of Westfield, MA, and St. Clair Austin and his wife Elizabeth of Wyoming, her daughters: Angela Nicholls and her husband Errol of Westfield, MA and Lana Johnson of Westfield, MA, her brother Fred Campbell and his wife Anita of Westfield, MA, her sister Gloria Campbell of Springfield, MA, 12 grandchildren, 18, great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, along with many other family members and friends. 

The family extends a heart-felt thank you to Janette Strickland and Louie Faldon for years of compassionate care, and the doctors and nurses at Baystate Home Health and Hospice.
