Lucien R. LeBlanc 84, of Village Rd. died Friday at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. He was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Edmond and Eugenie (Brien) LeBlanc. He was a WWII Army veteran and served with the 58th Signal Battalion of the 389th Infantry Division in the Pacific. Lucien was an auto mechanic and parts manager for the former Mack Buick for fifteen years during which time he taught basic automotive classes to women. He was a park ranger for two years at the Baxter State Park in Maine. He was a religious education teacher and lector. He was a Boy Scout Leader in Pascoag, Woonsocket, and Manville for many years and took many groups on trips to Washington DC. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. But mostly Lucien was an outdoorsman. He was an avid mountain climber and camper. He climbed to the summit of all the highest peaks in New England, New York and New Jersey, many of them more than once. He hiked the entire Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine three times, the last time at the age of 68. He had many incredible encounters with wild life. All in all, a full and interesting life.
He is survived by nieces and nephews.
