Luciano Orazio Arnao of Burlington City passed away Saturday September 8, 2018 at the Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County in Willingboro at the age of 88. Luciano was born and raised in Burlington, lived in Riverside and returned back to his beloved home city of Burlington. He was a graduate of Wilbur Watts High School of Burlington City, Class of 1949. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving honorably as a member of the US Army. He had a lifelong passion for electronics and had worked as an electrical maintainer first for Conrail and then for Septa Railroad in Philadelphia until his retirement.
He was a Ham Radio Operator (Call Sign WB2IOE) and belonged to many radio organizations; a member and director of the Air Force Military Affiliate Radio System (MARS), the West Jersey Radio Amateurs, ARRL, and built and maintained VHF radio repeaters on McGuire Air Force Base and in the Philadelphia area. He was also an avid photographer and was always seen with a camera around his neck. He was a member of the Amici Italian Club and had served as their photographer for many years. He was also a member of the Reading Railroad Club.
Luciano was predeceased by his parents, Orazio and Rose (nee Esaia) Arnao, his brothers Samuel Ochipinti, John, Joseph, Pasquale, Frank, Charles, Anthony Arnao and his sister Florence Fritter, his son Keith L. Arnao and his granddog and best pal, Cheyenne. He is survived by his wife Dolores (nee Singer), his daughter Karen Anderson (Bradford), his grandson Bradford Anderson Jr (Marlo) and his great grandson Jordan Keith Anderson, his granddaughter Rosemary Anderson (fiancée Alyssa Morris), as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members. Family and friends are invited to Luciano’s viewings and funeral mass.
