Luceil G. Salzman, 96, of Virginia, IL died Monday, April 25, 2011 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, IL.
She was born September 24, 1914 in Ashland, IL; the daughter of John and Dora Otken Douglass. She married Glenn L. Salzman on February 26, 1936 in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on November 6, 1987.
She is survived by four grandchildren, Diane Williams of Santee, CA, David Salzman of Spokane, WA, and Christine Lane and Rachelle Vanpaepeghem, both of El Cajon, CA; seven great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; three nieces; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard D. Salzman in 1997 and three sisters, Dorothy DeGroot, Mildred Grant, and Luella Reiff.
Mrs. Salzman was a homemaker and assisted her husband with their family farm operation. She was a member of the Sangamon Valley Presbyterian Church and the church’s missionary society. She was formerly active with Cass County Home Extension.
