Loys R. King, 90, Anderson, died May 8, 2009 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson after an extended illness. He was born October 20, 1918 in Celina, Tennessee, and had lived in this area since 1953.



He served his country with the United States Army. Loys retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after over 30 years of service. He was a member of Meadowbrook Church of Christ where he served as an elder.



Survivors include his son, James & wife, Betty King of Anderson; sisters, Inel Hicks & Martha L. Brown & husband, Willard; brothers, Clyde & wife, Ruth King and J.D. King; grandchildren, Troy & wife April King, Mark & wife, Nicole King, Cheryl & husband, Dennis Julius, Teresa & husband, Kent Yost, Garth & wife, Shawn Yost, and Rod Yost; along with numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Nivens King, in February of 2005; parents, Wayne & Clio Ford King; daughter, Gay Yost; son, Charles King; brother, Fred King and sisters Aylene Strong and Olene Upchurch.
