Loyle Richard Barrett, age 93, of Manassas, Virginia passed away Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Manassas Health and Rehab Center. He was born on October 11, 1921 in Piper City, Illinois the son of the late Luther M. and Lucy (Dehm) Barrett. He was a retired mechanical engineer at Fort Belvoir, Va. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was the widower of Elizabeth Murphy Barrett and preceded in death by brothers Leon Barrett and LeRoy Barrett. Survivors include his children, Patricia R. Barrett of Frederick, Maryland, Richard D. Barrett and wife Illana Naylor of Manassas, Virginia and Teresa M. Spurr and husband Robert of Clearwater, Florida; 9 grandchildren, Alice W. Hendricks and husband Bracken, Daniel C. Spurr and wife Alicia, Suchi Swift and husband Geoffrey Nazzaro, Paul Spurr, Amy S. Sarlo and husband Joey, Rianna N. Barrett, Benjamin N. Barrett, Alisa N. Barrett and fiancé Ryan Halferty and Joshua Spurr; 11 great grandchildren, sister Loyce Stonecipher of Odell, Illinois, brother Larry Barrett, Sr. and wife Donna of Metamora, Illinois, sister-in law Berniece Barrett of Pontiac, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews. Loyle and his wife were longtime founding members and supporters of St. Louis Church and the Poor Clare Monastery in Alexandria, Virginia.
