Loyd O. Myers, Jr. passed November 29, 2006. He was born May 4, 1939 to Loyd and Faye Myers of Gilbert and Mesa AZ. He attended Gilbert Elem., Mesa Jr. High and High School.
He severed in the US Navy aboard the carries USS Shangri-La as machinist 3rd class. He married Kathryn Knepshield in 1960. They have 2 sons. He worked at A: Research while attending ASU where he earned his BS in secondary education. Further education at NAU earning his masters, vocational Cert. and Administrative Cert. He taught Industrial Ed. And Vocational Ed at East High, Dear Valley High and Goldwater High till retiring in 1995.
Among those who will miss him dearly is his wife of 46 yrs, Kathy, sons Michael Scott (Bev), Patrick Timothy (Deb), granddaughters: Jessica, Tina and his cherished “Squirt” Nicole Ann, great grandson Dominic Angelo who called him “Great”. Brother, Gayle Vaughn (Isabel) and nephews Rob, Neil and niece, Nancy.
Lody loved Chevy’s, hunting, good friends, Colorado, western music, dogs and Kids. But most of all his family. His blue eyes, strong arms, smile and strength will be missed but the knowledge, love and strength he gave his students and family will be practiced and treasured.
