Louise V. Whitton, 91, of Jacksonville, died June 9, 2017, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing & Rehab.
She was born June 22, 1925, in Orleans, the daughter of H. Thomas and Zona Jones Pierce. She married C. Lavern Whitton and he preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 2014.
She is survived by one son and two daughters, Gary L. DeFrates and Janet Y. Morris, both of Jacksonville, and Wanda Ruth (Ben) Zahner of Petersburg; nine grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and longtime friend, Mary Suttles of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Ollie Ford, Verla Harris, and Ruth Antle; and three brothers, John, Sam and Harold Pierce; and one stepson, Steve Whitton (surviving wife Beverly of Jacksonville).
Mrs. Whitton retired in 1988, after 35 years at Franklin Life Insurance Company in Springfield. She was a member of Calvary Church in Springfield and VFW Post #1379 Auxiliary.
