Louise S. Schoonover, 93, of Metamora, Illinois passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. She was born on April 6, 1921 in Peoria to Albert and Rosa (Burkhalter) Schaer. She married James W. Schoonover, Sr. on June 14, 1941 in Spring Bay, Illinois. He died on December 20, 2002.
Surviving are her children Linda (Ronald) Call of Spring Bay, IL, Sherry (Jamie) Cohen of Portland, OR, and Pastor James W. (Susan) Schoonover of Morton, IL; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother Paul (Thelma) Schaer of Metamora, IL; and sister Clara (Jack) Kleinschmidt of Canton, IL. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Louise was raised on a dairy farm in rural East Peoria, and as a teenager helped her father deliver his milk route. Later she met the love of her life, Jim, and began a marriage that lasted 61 years until his death.
